SOLUTIONS FOR THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY
SEALS FOR CARS
OPTIMUM CARS SEALS? MORE THAN MERE FORMALITY!
Long-lasting reliability, precise functionality and ergonomic design are the core requirements for car seals. We fulfill all of these with economical production, reliable molds, the right compounds and material components and the highest quality standards. Benefit from our many years of experience in the development and production of tools, special machines and molded parts for complex sealing systems. We are happy to come together and listen to your ideas and requirements. In addition, we offer specially developed tool surfaces, so that the products leave a lasting impression in the field of vision.
As an example of the rapid development in the automotive industry, we show you the change in the production of joint gaskets for door sealing systems. Our first joint seals were made in EPDM. For this purpose, plastic inserts were made in a separate injection mold and then encapsulated in the EPDM mold. Today, joint seals are often produced in direct two component injection molding. For this purpose, the hard and soft component are injected in sequence directly in the same mold. Thus, the entire component is manufactured in a single operation and due to the thermoplastic materials significantly shorter process times than in the EPDM vulcanization can be achieved. The reduced component weight is another advantage due to the low density of TPE. However, for dynamically loaded seals, we still recommend EPDM because of the better material properties compared to TPE, especially at higher temperature requirements.
CLIPS AND INSERTS FOR CAR SEALS
We also manufacture plastic clips and inserts at one location in SPT. These components are assembled on our seals or encapsulated directly with rubber for a firm mechanical anchorage. The parts on the belt only have to be clipped in and have a secure hold and reliably seal against wind and weather. Our experts will gladly advise you whether an overmolded solution or direct two component injection molding is the right choice for your application.
